Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. has provided fire retardant lumber and plywood for interior and exterior applications since 1955.

Exterior Fire-X® products are pressure-impregnated and kiln-dried with third-party monitoring, and provide fire protection for weather-exposed applications, such as decks, balconies, stairways, siding, scaffolding, soffits, fascia and roof sheathing. UL® labeled Exterior Fire-X® is tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 & D-2898 and exhibits a flame-spread of 25 or less, even after 30 minutes of testing.

Pyro-Guard®, designed for interior applications of lumber and plywood, exhibits equally impressive test results and conforms to the same stringent production requirements as Exterior Fire-X®.

The superior performance of both products often allows our treated wood to be used instead of more expensive materials like concrete and steel. Furthermore, Exterior Fire-X® and Pyro-Guard® can be painted or stained like untreated wood.
